Plug it in Plug it in

Ok guys so it's my birthday today but that isn't going keep me from posting.
So I wasn't able to get a good price on an Atari 400 power cable, so I made one. I used Kenik KD-627 with a Pro-Lite PT-AD0925D for power.
If you would like to do this yourself you will need:
Tools:
  Wire-Cutters
Electrical Tape(if try using other tapes your probably screwed)
  Wire Strippers/Pocket-Knife
  Soldering Iron(optional)
  Solder(optional)
  Volt-Meter

Hardware:
5.5X2.1mm Male Barrel Connector(you can cannibalize an old cable or buy just the connector)
A/An Plug/Adapter that outputs 9VAC(It will not work with DC or any more or less volts) at least 1.7Amps(its fine if you use more (mine is 2.5))
Copper Wire (get different colors for + and -)(Optional(recommended))

Instructions(cannibalized):
1. If you can mark the positive and negative wires on your Connector and Plug/ Adapter(if Possible).
2. Cut the wires on both your connector and plug leaving as much wire on as possible.
3.Strip both of the positive wires and twist together then cover with electrical tape. Repeat on the negative.
4.Plug in the power cord/adapter into the wall and Atari 400. Be ready to unplug in an instant. Turn on the Atari 400,  if the light comes on good your done if you want to leave it this way and wish to solder skip to step 5B. if not, unplug ASAP and go on to step 5A.
5A.Remove the electrical tape from the wires an untwist them.
6A. Switch the wires over twist together and tape.
7A. Plug in the Atari and turn on if it works your good, you can let it stay like this or go on to 5B. If not  you may have problems inside your Atari or power cord/adapter test both with your volt-meter.
5B. Make Sure your Soldering Iron is hot and work-space is ready.
6B.Remove the electrical tape and connect the wires to your preference.
7B. Solder the wires.
8B. Tape each wire so that nothing is exposed.
9B.(Optional) Tape the to wires together. (DO NOT do this before 8B.)

Instructions(Connector):
1.If you can mark the positive and negative wires on your Connector and Plug/ Adapter(if Possible).
2.Cut the current connector off your Plug/Adapter.
3.Make sure your soldering Iron is hot an work place clear.
4. Solder the positive wire to the positive spot on the connector and negative wire  to negative spot.(I believe the outside is positive, while the inside is negative)
5. Wrap wires in electrical wire to leave nothing exposed.(other than what plugs in to the Atari)
6.If you wish do step 9B. above.

This should also work for most other Atari 8-bit computers and accessories.
If you want to know how to solder watch the above. Also check this site http://www.aaroncake.net/electronics/solder.htm .

Computer or is It

Ok so I found an Atari 400 today for $3 with centipede. The only drawback I have no power cable I plan to buy one and see if it works. Also I may take it apart (I may just film this one if my camera is workin well ) As you may know this was marketed as a computer but had nearly 3000 programs for it in the end(including games)

Atari Days

Ok so my uncle gave me his old broken Atari 2600 and Im gonna be fixin it up until the gamebits come in. I know it had power problems and Ill see what I can do.

Bit to Pieces

Ok so Wednesday I fixed an original Nintendo for a friend and then he left me with a broken N64. As many know you just cannot easily open a Nintendo item after NES with regular screwdrivers. So I bot two Nintendo gamebits off Amazon. One for Games and the other for systems since they are different sizes. Once it comes in Ill be probably doin a littlle documentation on what I did.
